Early Years: Kindergarten
Joyful discovery, purposeful play, and Christ-centered exploration.
At Landa, our vibrant early childhood program nurtures children’s spiritual, academic, and social-emotional growth through a biblically grounded, individualized approach. Using Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) foundations, young learners are gently introduced to early reading, numeracy, and godly character formation at their own pace. Readiness assessments, not age, guide placement into the right program. Through Bible storytelling, scripture memory, creative arts, and entrepreneurship activities, children explore God’s world with curiosity, confidence, and creativity, building strong foundations for lifelong learning.

Individualized Placement Approach
Placement is based on skill mastery, not age or grade. Both the ABCs Pretest and Coordination Development Tests assess readiness, ensuring each child learns at a pace suited to their maturity and abilities.
Program Features
Our Christ-centered program includes Bible lessons, music, art, outdoor play, and nutritious meals, all guided by qualified Christian staff in safe, child-friendly facilities. Optional afternoon supervision is available.

Early Childhood Curriculum

8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – ABCs with Ace and Christi program (These students may stay for the entire kindergarten program or go home at 12:30.)
01:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Kindergarten with Ace and Christi program for both kindergarten and ABCs students
Individualized Approach
The beginning reading programs use the same individualized approach of grading used on higher levels. Placement in a particular reading program is not determined merely on the basis of age or grade. A child is not necessarily ready to learn to read simply because he is five or six years old and in the first grade. Before enrolling in the ABCs program, the student, whatever his age or grade, must master certain motor and cognitive skills. On the other hand, students who demonstrate that they have mastered these skills by passing the ABCs with Ace and Christi Pretest can be enrolled in the ABCs program at the age of five or older.
Kindergarten with Ace and Christi
The Kindergarten with Ace and Christi program includes animal stories and songs, 60 PACEs, 12 PACEs in each core subject Math, English, Word Building, Science, Studies, physical and coordination development activities, and Bible and character-building stories. The full-year program is intended to foster quick learning of the letter sounds; to encourage understanding of number concepts and word relationships; to strengthen memory, visual, auditory, coordination, and social skills; and to instill Biblical principles in students.
Upon completion of this program, the child is issued another ABCs with Ace and Christi Pretest to be sure s/he is ready to proceed into the ABCs with Ace and Christi program.
ABCs with Ace and Christi
ABCs with Ace and Christi is a 12- to 15-week phonics-based program that prepares students for the individualized A.C.E. PACE curriculum. A number of outstanding reading tools, including a unique alphabet sequence, a song for each sound, poems, displays, and physical and motor development activities are incorporated into the program. The Bible stories and character development activities increase the students’ spiritual understanding and help them develop moral integrity. Progress Reports show progress in learning the alphabet sounds, PACE Test scores, quarterly PACE averages, Scripture memory passages, and the Post Test score.
ABCs with Ace and Christi Pretest
The ABCs with Ace and Christi Pretest determines whether a student is ready to learn to read.
A student who scores 80 percent or above on the Pretest and who demonstrates a proper maturity level as determined by the Coordination Development Tests is enrolled in the ABCs with Ace and Christi program whether he is five, six, or seven years old. A student who scores less than 80 percent on the Test and/or does not demonstrate the proper maturity level needs additional preparation and is enrolled in the Kindergarten with Ace and Christi program.
The Kindergarten with Ace and Christi program should be used for children who score below 80 percent on the ABCs with Ace and Christi Pretest. These students are enrolled in the kindergarten program for one full school year. The students learn all the concepts and skills needed for readiness to read. They also learn social skills, the wonders of God’s world, and the reality of God’s love.
Kindergarten Business Entrepreneurship
The Kindergarten Business Entrepreneurship program includes Bible-based entrepreneurship stories and songs, hands-on activities such as role-play markets and simple craft-making, and Bible and character-building lessons. The full-year program is intended to foster early understanding of stewardship, responsibility, and teamwork; to encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills; to strengthen communication, collaboration, coordination, and social-emotional skills; and to instill Biblical principles of integrity, diligence, generosity, and wise resource management. When the child is ready, he or she will demonstrate foundational awareness of basic business concepts such as saving, giving, trading, and serving others. Upon completion of this program, the child is issued a readiness assessment to ensure he or she is prepared to proceed into more advanced entrepreneurship experiences in subsequent levels.
Kindergarten Worship Creative Arts
The Kindergarten Worship Creative Arts program includes Bible-based worship stories and songs, creative arts projects (visual arts, music, drama, and dance), and Bible and character-building lessons. The full-year program is intended to foster expressive worship and appreciation for God’s creativity; to encourage imagination, artistic expression, and joyful praise; to strengthen fine motor, auditory, visual, coordination, and social-emotional skills; and to instill Biblical principles of worship, gratitude, and reverence for God. When the child is ready, he or she will demonstrate foundational awareness of worship expressions through music, art, movement, and storytelling. Upon completion of this program, the child is issued a readiness assessment to ensure he or she is prepared to proceed into more advanced creative arts and worship experiences in subsequent levels.

Student agency in ACE means helping young children take responsibility for their own learning, even from an early age. In the ACE program, children begin to set small goals, make simple choices, and take ownership of their daily work. As they learn to work independently and at their own pace, they develop important life skills like decision-making, time management, and self-motivation. This early foundation encourages confidence, a love for learning, and a heart to do all things "as unto the Lord" (Colossians 3:23). By guiding Kindergarten students to take part in their learning journey, we are preparing them to become confident, lifelong learners who joyfully steward their education.
We create a carefully designed learning framework that offers meaningful choices within clear boundaries. By balancing structured guidance with opportunities for student agency, children learn to make thoughtful decisions without becoming overwhelmed by too many options. This approach nurtures independence, responsibility, and confidence, helping students grow into self-directed learners who take ownership of their education—one choice at a time.
Age has little to do with readiness to learn to read, the most essential and reliable tool for placing any child in the educational process is testing. The ABCs with Ace and Christi Pretest will show which early development program is right for the student and will allow him or her to acquire the right foundation in reading.
Placement in a particular reading program is not determined merely on the basis of age or grade. A child is not necessarily ready to learn to read simply because he is five or six years old and in the first grade.
Rather than relying on traditional grades, we track your child's progress through clear learning milestones and authentic demonstrations of understanding. Each quarter, the ABCs Supervisor completes an ABCs Progress Report to send home to parents, detailing your child’s academic and character progress. This report includes updates on PACE Test scores, Scripture memory passages, alphabet progress, and the Post Test score. On the back of the report, the supervisor includes insights on the Desirable Habits and Traits the student is displaying. The Progress Report helps keep you informed about your child’s growth, both academically and in their character development.
